"AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE OR EVEN WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED.
IT'S ABOUT WHO YOU'VE LIFTED UP. WHO YOU'VE MADE BETTER.
IT'S ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE GIVEN BACK."

ABOUT
Mission Statement
The Paul Englert Memorial Foundation supports the local community through educational advancement opportunities and a commitment to improving public health outcomes.
The Life of Paul Englert
In the fall of 2019, Paul Englert was taken from us when he suffered a massive heart attack. Paul was a family man, an athlete, and a life-long learner. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 34 years and their two daughters. Paul’s friends and family describe him as a gentle giant who had a great smile that accompanied his sarcastic sense of humor.
Paul’s active lifestyle began when he was young, playing baseball in the alleys of Baltimore City. Through an academic scholarship, Paul attended the Gilman School in Baltimore. During his time at Gilman, he played football, basketball, and baseball. Through school, he was able to cultivate lifelong friendships and learn foundational values that would carry him through life. After high school, Paul attend Yale University where he majored in Economics and continued playing football and baseball. Paul finished his formal education when he received his Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University (Maryland). Paul continued to satisfy his competitive appetite with weekly rounds of golf, up until his passing. The love of family, academics, and athletics were intertwined into his DNA.
As a committed philanthropist, Paul strongly believed in giving to those in need. He gave formally and informally when the opportunities presented themselves--whether that be to family, friends or the local community. He gave with humility and did not expect accolades in return. Aligning with his values, the Paul Englert Memorial Foundation seeks to focus on academia for those less fortunate and health initiatives to improve the longevity of life.
